| Brian Smith currently holds the rank of Associate Professor at Black Hills State University. He has worked extensively in tropical biology, including fieldwork in the Caribbean, the Philippine Islands, the Amazonian lowlands of Peru, the Pacific island of Guam, and tropical lowland areas in Costa Rica and Guatemala. His research interests include tropical biology, conservation biology, and herpetology. He is currently working on the conservation and management of reptiles and amphibians in the Black Hills and other areas in the western United States. He teaches topics in conservation biology, ecology, and vertebrate zoology. |
